Teresa, a 23-year-old pregnant woman, lives with her husband, Diógenes, 26, in a village in the Sincelejo district. When she goes into labor, the midwife visits her, as is traditional in her community. However, upon examining her, the midwife realizes she will not be able to give birth there and must travel to a hospital in the city for surgery.
