Boatswain and the Monk

Monk Cyprian (Burkov) performs monastic service at the Vysoko-Petrovsky Monastery in Moscow. Anatoly Burkov, a Hero of the Soviet Union and a career military officer, lost both legs in Afghanistan, survived three clinical deaths, and returned to the army. This film tells the story of a man who became an example of resilience for many of his contemporaries.
