Endémicos
Polico Diaz, leader of the Ashaninka community of Nueva Austria, one of the last resisting illegal mining in Puerto Inca, accompanies documentary filmmaker Gustavo Carrasco on an expedition to the heights of the El Sira Communal Reserve to document endemic birds found only in this part of the world, of which there are almost no records. Joining him on this journey is his son Ruben, who faces the dilemma of leaving the community or following in his father's footsteps. After several days of climbing the mountain and documenting unique species, father and son witness not only the biodiversity of El Sira, but also the bond they share within these fragile and threatened ecosystems they protect.
