Fortress

The story takes place somewhere in Eastern Europe. The authorities declare a state of siege. A visually impaired old man becomes the commander. One theory applies - there is an enemy all around! The manipulated inhabitants of the Homo sovieticus trust the news without reservations and prepare to defend themselves. The city becomes a closed fortress. The authoritarian authorities introduce morning gymnastics. Volunteer patriots willing to die for the cause appear. The protagonist, internally torn, wants to escape. The authorities decide to fire a cannon at the supposed enemy. Although nothing remains, everything is under control. The fortress becomes a bygone history, but the demons of war never sleep
