Slave Ship

Slave Ship is created through a process that I have been honing for a few years now that allows me to use the intrinsic properties of a pixel as material. I call this process Time Based Pixel Painting as the method uses bit depth and luminance values as a painter would pigment and medium. No scans or video is used in this process. Slave Ship is inspired by JMW Turner's masterpiece painting, The Slave Ship. Turner finished The Slave Ship in 1840 well after the emancipation of slaves in 1834. This film has a slow meditative pace and silent.
