Night & Day is an ambient film and sound installation by Pat O’Connor observing the two-sidedness of Iowa City’s Pedestrian Mall. Originally presented at Refocus Film Festival in 2025, the project featured analog projectors and grainy B&W film loops create a ghostly perspective on this city’s split personality. Along with the persistent hum of the vintage projectors, an endless cassette tape completes the immersion—providing a collage of ambient music, actual Ped Mall atmosphere, and sound bites from 2024’s Revision installation, We Always Come Here, by Ian Bennett.
